Audio-Reactive Visuals with TouchDesigner
from 16:30 to 18:30
This workshop introduces participants to generative, audio-reactive visual design using TouchDesigner, a real-time visual programming environment widely used in digital art, live performances, and interactive installations.
In a two-hour session, participants will explore how to use procedural techniques to create dynamic, ever-changing visual effects. They will gain a basic understanding of node-based workflows in TouchDesigner, learn how simple systems—such as patterns, noise, and feedback—can be combined to achieve complex visual results, and discover how these results can be influenced by external sound elements.
The workshop emphasizes hands-on experimentation and intuitive learning, encouraging participants to explore and manipulate visual systems in real time. Rather than focusing on technical details, the emphasis is on creative exploration and personal expression, allowing each participant to develop their own visual direction. The workshop is aimed at artists, designers, and creatives interested in expanding their visual language and engaging with contemporary generative practices and sound. No prior knowledge of TouchDesigner is required.
Razieh Kooshki
Razieh Kooshki is an Iranian interdisciplinary artist based in Linz, Austria. Her work focuses on generative art, generative visuals, virtual reality, 3D animation, and video art. In her live visual performances, she explores the relationship between sound and non-narrative moving images, creating immersive environments in which visual and acoustic elements merge into a unified experience.
Since 2016, she has been developing reactive and generative visual systems into which she incorporates interactivity to deepen audience engagement. As a visual artist, Razieh has presented her work at international music and digital art festivals as well as at various venues, including Deep Space 8K and Ars Electronica (Austria, 2022–2025), Sound Campus (2024), Speculum Artium Festival (Slovenia, 2021), Tehran Contemporary Sound (Berlin, 2022), and Radar Festival (Romania, 2024).
In 2023, she led a TouchDesigner workshop at the Chair of Interface Cultures at the University of Art and Design Linz. In 2024, she was invited to participate in the panel discussion “Sense and Sensuality of Immersive Spaces,” organized by Ars Electronica Solutions as part of the Ars Electronica Festival. Her works have been presented at Ars Electronica (Austria, 2021), the Speculum Artium Festival (Slovenia, 2022), the Geneva International Film Festival (Switzerland, 2022), the Athens Digital Arts Festival (Greece, 2022), and at “Remix Culture: Interface Cultures @ the AI & Art Pavilion for Esch2022” (Luxembourg). In 2025, her work was presented at the Krupa Art Foundation.
